Alisa T. Weinstein is a financial and life literacy expert, commentator and blogger for Nightly Business Report’s Kids & Cash series, speaker, trainer, author of the award-winning "Earn It, Learn It: Teach Your Child the Value of Money, Work, and Time Well Spent" (January 2011), and Founder of Earn My Keep, LLC (EMK), which includes earnmykeep.com, an interactive, family-friendly blog. She is also the co-founder of Financial & Life Literacy for Youth, Inc. (FLY), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that uses her Earn My Keep philosophy to transform the way children and youth view, approach and function within the world they will inherit.

Ms. Weinstein is also a nationally and internationally recognized copywriter, earning dozens of industry awards for her marketing and advertising work. Her clients include the likes of McDonald’s, SAP, PNC Bank, Exxon/Mobile, XM Radio, Blockbuster and a host of nonprofit and government programs, including those for the Colorectal Cancer Society of America, National Institutes of Health, EPA, HUD, FAA and DOD. She earned her B.A. from the University of Maryland, Journalism, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.

Ms. Weinstein has presented at several speaking engagements across the country, including Washington, DC; Maryland; Maine and Illinois. Her public engagements have included local public schools, public charter schools, Montessori schools, libraries, book fairs, and religious organizations. Ms. Parithivel brings almost two decades of experience as a high school educator, school and nonprofit leader and seasoned educational and nonprofit management consultant. She is a trainer, presenter and lecturer on numerous educational topics of teacher recruitment and retention, teacher professional development, curriculum design, development and implementation. She is a nonprofit and educational consultant who has assisted in successfully chartering six public charter schools; assisted in developing youth development models for cities who had no professional model in place for youth workers to master their skill sets working with today's youth; worked collaboratively with various educational, human and social services organizations to work on joint projects where children and families were provided an array of services to address the needs of the child(ren) and family educationally, socially, emotionally and physically; chaired several state and national professional committees in the areas of special education, youth development, after school and out of school time programs and teacher professional development whose interest is professionalizing the field in the United States.

Ms. Parithivel continues to pioneer her success with small and medium nonprofit strategic planning, financial and fundraising planning and business development. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Lesley University with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Special Education and Educational Leadership. She has a Bachelor of Science from Boston University in Elementary Education and Special Education.

Ms. Parithivel recognized Earn My Keep’s (www.earnmykeep.com) potential to bring desperately needed financial and life literacy skills into the realm of education, social, and human services. As this was the ultimate dream for the program, the two co-founded a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization: Financial & Life Literacy for Youth (FLY) www.helpkidsfly.org.
